Verification / Revaluation / Rechecking of answer books of CA Final, IPCC, CPT :

Hi friends....many were worried about results right......??? Though you made the Paper with 100% of your efforts.....results may not be in such a way you imagined......But just wait look here because you will have 2nd chance i.e. I mean verification of your papers. For every stage of CA you have an opportunity of applying for verification......If you are really very much confident about your result that you will pass then you can apply for verification....

The verification procedure:

An student of CA exams who gave his attempt but not satisfied with the result can apply for verification of his/her answer books, either physically in his/her own handwriting, or on-line.
http://icaiexam.icai.org

Generally here, the process of verification of marks covers:

  • Whether any question or part thereof has remained unvalued.
  • Whether the answer book(s) compilation is complete.
  • Whether the handwriting of the examinee in all the answer books is the same
  • Whether there is any totaling error in any question or total marks on the cover page
  • Whether there is any discrepancy between the marks for each question and or part thereof and marks for each question indicated on the cover page of the answer book.
These all will be observed....therefore though you apply online you have to take write a letter with your own handwritting and get it scaned so that scaned copy is to be uploaded when applying for request of verification. There is no need to send application in post seperately when done through online. In whatever medium he/she wrote the exam the letter should also be written with the same language like for example if the examinee had appeared in Hindi medium, his/her application should be in Hindi. Typewritten applications are not at all entertained. There are no hard and fast rule on how the letter should be or standard format of latter. but you need to clearly mention the following details in that application and signed by the student who appeared for the exam himself or we can simply say examinee.
  • Student Name
  • Student Registration No
  • Exam-IPCE/PCE/Final/CPT
  • Roll No
  • Paper(s)/subjects to be verified
  • Month and year of the exam
  • Address for communication.

Verification fee is as follows:

  • For Final, PCE, IPCE/ATE, IPCE/ATE-units: Rs 100/- per paper subject to a maximum of Rs 400/- for all the papers of a group/both groups.

In case an examinee is applying online, he/she can pay the verification fee on-line, either by debit/credit card, Master/Visa. The verification fees is the same, whether the application is physical or on-line.
An application by an examinee seeking inspection of his/her evaluated answer books and/or certified copies thereof is independent of and distinct from an application made by him/her for verification of marks under the existing Regulation 39(4) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.

An application for inspection/certified copies is not treated as a verification application.

  1. An application for inspection/certified copies is not treated as a verification application.

The results will be out within 6-8 weeks from the receipt of your application by ICAI.
They can also send an email at the following email IDs, CPT, IPCC , IPCE, FINAL respectively.....

CPT examinees   -      cpt_exam@icai.in
PCE examinees   -      pce_examhelpline@icai.in
IPCE examinees  -      ipce_examhelpline@icai.in
Final examinees   -      final_examhelpline@icai.in

Note

  • Its only verification of answer book but not evaluation.....i.e. they also go through activities like Is there any mistake in the calculation of total or.....,whether the marks allotted to all answers or not.....so they will not verify each and every answer again.
  • The main thing here is apply for verification only when you are 2 or 3 marks away to get pass or exemption orelse it does not work out that favourably.......It does not mean that its waste because.... there are some cases who got 20 marks and declared as pass.....so cant estimate but chances are less when the gap between your score and the pass marks or exemption is more.
  • Though the marks change they may not impact on the results for most of the times.
  • If marks change they may result in pass of the Group or exemption in one or more subjects.
